... Donovan McNabb is full of surprises since the big surprise of the Eagles taking a quarterback with their first pick in the 2007 draft occurred. The latest: He actually took part in some very limited practice activities today during the team’s latest minicamp, according to the Eagles’ Web site. The team had been hoping McNabb could be healed enough from his ACL surgery to return to the field at the start of training camp, but there he was throwing the ball earlier today. Before we get too excited, the Web site reports that he took just three snaps in 11-on-11 drills (throwing one pass—”The pass was partially underthrown, but it still possessed of the trademark tight spiral and high arc of a McNabb deep ball” ) and then threw six passes in seven-on-seven drills (three complete, with two of the three incompletions being dropped passes).
