Phillies Claim RHP Lahey, IF Woodward
Phillies Nation — The Phillies today claimed RHP Tim Lahey off waivers. They also grabbed IF Chris Woodward. To make room, they outrighted Chris Snelling, Ray Olmedo and JD Durbin to AAA Lehigh Valley. (I suppose Durbin wasn’t waived, or he wasn’t taken by anybody.) Lahey, 26, wasn’t terrible ascending the ranks to AAA Rochester last year. His K/9 rate diminished considerably each season while in the Twins farm system. He was picked up first in the Rule V draft by the Rays, then sold to the Cubs. This spring with Chicago, he went 0-1 with a 6.55 ...

If Tim Lahey, the pitcher the Phillies picked up off of waivers late last week contributes positively to the team in 2008, they will have, indirectly at least, finally gotten something out of Jon Lieber. It turns out that the Cubs released Lahey because Lieber was moved... ...
Odds And Ends: Lahey, Gibbons, FreelMLB Rumors - MLBTradeRumors.com
A couple minor notes this morning... The Phillies claimed reliever Tim Lahey off of waivers from the Cubs. Lahey was the top pick in the Rule 5 draft from the Twins' system. The Cubs had to expose Lahey to waivers prior to offering him back to the Twinkies. Rule 5 rules still apply with the Phillies, so Lahey must remain on their 25-man roster all season or be offered back to Minnesota. ...
Rule V Madness! Lahey to Philly, Register returned to RockiesThe Transaction Guy
As is typically the case this time of year, Rule V draft picks are flying all over the place as teams scramble to set their final rosters. The Phillies took a flyer on righthander Tim Lahey , claiming the 6-4, 250 pound converted catcher off waivers from the Chicago Cubs. Lahey, originally a Minnesota farmhand, was selected by the Tampa Bay (don’t call them Devil) Rays in the Rule V ...
Lahey Claimed off WaiversThe Cub Reporter (TCR) | A Chicago Cubs Blog
It's on the front of Rotoworld, but the Phillies claimed Tim Lahey today off waivers. They'll have to keep him on their 25-man roster all season to keep his rights beyond 2008 without a trade or cash exchanging hands. If he can't stick, he'll go through waivers again, but more likely end up back in the Minnesota Twins organization (if they want him). The Cubs are still owed a player for the ...

Right-hander Tim Lahey, a converted catcher who has never pitched in the Majors, was claimed off waivers from the Cubs. Utility veteran Chris Woodward, who had been in Yankees camp, signed a minor league deal. In other news, J.D. At least you can stop Laheying up at night thinking about itPhilliesflow.com
The eleventh pitcher on the Phillies appears to be right-hander Tim Lahey, who the Phils claimed off of waivers today. Barring another move, which seems at the very least possible, Wes Helms would be the fourteenth hitter and final man on the 25-man roster. Snelling and Olmedo were sent to Triple-A. Lahey is right-handed — unless the Phils trade Helms for a left-handed pitcher it ...
