Pistons and Sixers kick off the playoffs
It’s weird — you wait all season for the playoffs to start, and when they finally get here, it seems like they snuck up on you. (Or is it just me?) In any case, the Pistons and Sixers are about to tip-off Game 1 on TNT in just a few minutes. I answered some questions about the series the other day for Brian at the aptly-named Philly blog Depressed Fan , and I should point out if ... [link]

Pistons vs. Sixers Bullets
Published 4/21/2008 at ESPN.com - True Hoop - Blog
... On Detroit Bad Boys, after last night's loss to the Pistons, the comments got a little out of hand (PG-13!) with people calling for the heads of many people on the Pistons' payroll, but mostly Flip Saunders. LawyerBoy, however, was one of several to call for calm: "Do you guys remember the '03-'04 Pistons? You know, the ones that won an NBA title? Remember those cats? Do you remember what happened to them, at home, in the first round? They dropped a close Game 2 to the Milwaukee Bucks after Rasheed fumbled the pass out of bounds that could've ...

Detroit Fans Reaction to the Game 1 Loss
Published 4/21/2008 by Dannie at Recliner GM
... Priceless! PistonsNationblog is clearly shocked evidenced by the title of their post game recap - Ehhh…what? That made me laugh out loud when I read that. But, kudos must go out to them for giving the 76ers the credit they deserve: “Hats off to Philly’s D. They really turned it up in the 4th holding Detroit to 16 points on 28% shooting. They played free and with nothing to lose and were the better team.” There was a great game thread over at Detroit Bad Boys. Just following their fans comments ...

STOP BLAMING FLIP SAUNDERS

I'm really getting sick of people using Flip Saunders as the scapegoat for every single Pistons loss. In most peoples minds, you'd think that the Piston players haven't lost a game since the George Irvine era. STOP IT RIGHT NOW! This one is on the players. These are not two evenly matched up teams. There is a reason the 76ers went 40-42 on the season.

Pistons stumble in opener

-- Boredom has not settled in. Heck, it's only the first game of the playoffs. And like they've said in past playoff runs, the Detroit Pistons insisted there's no need to hit the panic button following their 90-86 loss to the upstart Philadelphia 76ers in Game 1 of a best-of-seven playoff series on Sunday.

Ehhh…what?

I was expecting our guys to come out and really send a message to the rest of the league that the real season has begun. But that didn’t quite happen. Looking back we should have expected this type of game. We had four just like it in the regular season. That’s what happens when you pit two of the top ten stingiest defenses in the league up against one another.
