char6587 why would he leave cleveland to stay in detroit? wouldn't the whole point of leaving the cavs be to go to a big market team, etc.? detroit could not offer him as much as the cavs could (no team can), and it certainly isn't any bigger of a market than is cleveland. no way bronbron goes to detroit.-

oubobcat6 You know, all these people are writing about an agonizing two years for the Cavs, but how about for people that have to read this crap every three days. Every time a GM has a bowel movement, it's clearing the way for LeBron.-
And One I think I love you.

Pistons just extended Rip Hamilton
Need4Sheed.com —
“In addition to acquiring Allen Iverson in a three-for-one trade with the Denver Nuggets, the Pistons agreed to a three-year extension with Richard Hamilton, a team source told ESPN.com’s Chad Ford.
The new contract is worth $34 million, with the first two years guaranteed. The third year is only a partial guarantee, the source told Ford.” Via ESPN

... with the suggestion that the Pistons could sign both LeBron and Chris Bosh. Adrian Wojnarowski says the Pistons are now the frontrunners for LeBron’s services. Theoretically, they may have a point. Realistically, LeBron is not going to agree to play in Detroit. He has bigger cities to fry. Bosh, however, might be a possibility. There are so many superstars who will be free agents in 2010 that the Pistons are bound to run into someone who likes what they have to offer. Plus, there are only going to be so many teams that can offer a max contract. Amare Stoudemire, Dirk Nowitzki, ...
King James Belongs in a Palace
DETROIT4LYFE —
As I brushed on earlier in my astute analysis of the Allen Iverson trade, King James appears to be the future prize in the eye of Joe Dumars. Today's trade will free up a lot of salary space come summer 2010, especially if Rasheed Wallace is not resigned. According to an article on Yahoo! Dumars knows exactly what he's doing. As one GM in the league said, “Damn it, I am afraid Joe has this whole thing wired. He’s got everything in place to pull this off.” Will we see King James playing his home games in the Palace of Auburn Hills come fall 2010? Read the article and let me know what you think. Or don't. ...
What next for Bosh?
The Globe and Mail - From Deep —
So why Detroit? In my column today the argument is that the Pistons, like other teams (Nets, Knicks etc.) made the Iverson deal not so much for this year but to be in position for 2010 when basically the core of the NBA's all-star game, seemingly, will be a free agent. Bosh is one of those guys, along with LeBron, Wade, Amare, Nash, Nowitzki. There are a lot of good players to be had. It doesn't automatically mean that Bosh will be one of them. I've got no inside scoop to suggest he's got an eye on leaving. But I've got no inside scoop to suggest he's staying. And if it makes you feel any better, Adrian Wojnarowski at Yahoo Sports constructs a pretty ...
Pistons' Deal for Iverson May Position Them to Land LeBron in 2010
FanHouse —
Filed under: Cavaliers, Pistons, NBA RumorsThe blockbuster trade that the Pistons made to bring Allen Iverson to town was about their future; that much is clear. In the immediate future -- as in, this season's playoffs -- it gives Detroit a legitimate scorer who can create on his own when the defenses tighten their grip, as they usually do in the post-season. But what about the team's long-term plans? Ziller mentioned the fact that with Iverson's contract coming off the books this summer, the team will have the money to legitimately peruse the tasty menu of free agents that will be available come 2010. Adrian ...

It’s a Grand Time to be a Pistons Fan: Iverson Now, Youth Later, LeBron in Two Years?
The Big Lead —
If you’re a Detroit Pistons fan, why wouldn’t you like the deal? Doesn’t clearing cap space trump all? Sure, two combustible personalities in Iverson and Rasheed Wallace playing on the same team could be a bit much for a rookie coach to handle, but that’s a fear reserved for the Clippers or something, not a top-tier team in the East.
Absolute best-case scenario: AI tutors the heir apparent at PG, Rodney Stuckey, and seamlessly becomes the new Mr. Big Shot; Amir Johnson and Jason Maxiell more than make up for the loss of Antonio McDyess, and in the summer of 2010, LeBron James thinks Detroit is the best fit for him (for a ...

Iverson For Billups Breakdown
BallerBlogger.com —
You’ve probably read about 100 articles/blogs analyzing the Allen Iverson for Chauncey Billups/Antonio McDyess trade that went down yesterday. I know I have. So what’s one more?
Denver
At the very least, Denver’s trade for Chauncey Billups was an admission that the Allen Iverson trade was a mistake. Sure, coach George Karl and the Nuggets have spoken glowingly about Iverson’s time in the Mile High City. But in trading for Billups, the Nuggets acquired Andre Miller with a jumpshot.
Don’t believe me? Let’s take a look at the numbers.
