... gets a little weird. Pirates pitchers walk, on average 3.15 batters per 9 IP at PNC Park. Now, on the road, the pitchers walk, on average, 4.06 batters per 9 IP. How the pitchers walk about 1 batter more per game is beyond me. Oh, and back to that ERA, the Pirates' away ERA is 5.20, almost 2 runs more per game than at home. I just don't get it. At home, batters hit .245 against our pitchers. On the road, they hit .286...oh, and they slug a whole .101 points higher. I have no idea... Giants 3, Pirates 2 Charlie Morton pitched well, as he gave up just 2 ER in 6 IP, but it wasn't ...

Giants Get Well At Home
giantsbaseballblog.blogspot.com 8/3/2009 — Fans started to panic a bit when the team came out of the all-star break so stagnant, but it looks like they have righted the ship, as they so often have at home this year, with a 6-1 home stand. They've also regained their hold of the National League Wild Card spot, although the Rockies, Cubs ...
