A quick, additional note about Sheets' 2007 and 2008 LIPS ERAs.  Looking a little deeper, Sheets induced more infield flies in 2007.  Since infield flies are essentially the same as strikeouts (98% out percentage), we can check the combined effect of the two.  In 2007, Sheets' Strikeouts+Infield Flies per 9 was 8.21.  In 2008, it was 8.12.  This accounts a good deal for the similar LIPS ERAs.
