Postcards From LA, Vol. 2: One Lakers Fan Tracks His Team Through the NBA Playoffs

This is why people hate the Lakers.

The team has been mediocre since Shaq left, but now that they're riding high again, the sense of entitlement and disrespect for other teams is already back.  Denver is probably the best #8 seed in history, and the difference in records would translate to a #3-#6 matchup in most years.  Be happy that you got Kobe's 49 and the win.

Kobe did his thing the Lakers hung in there for a big win and they are on their way to winning this series. Kobe is key and game 3 will be a bigger challenge so I can't wait.

Agreed. Game 3 will go a long way to showing what these Lakers are made of. If they can sweep, look out. If they stumble, we'll be talking about next year sooner than later.

The Rockets just did them a *huge* favor last night by pushing it to at least 5 games.

A Little NBA Season End Venting
Le Basketbawl — ... initial video was pretty lame. I've seen this stunt done by skateboards and extreme sport guys for years. Maybe because Kobe got all "thugged" out with Heart-Man Turiaf it became a hit? And someone posted a "failed" version? And now a Kenny Smith TNT version? Zzzzzzz. (Ok the Kenny version was a little funny with the wrong foot part.) What am I enjoying right now? clublakers.com 4/24/2008 — Game 1 is history and what was imperative tonight was that the Leers held home court advantage.
