Luis Castillo will not be activated today. He spoke with Jerry Manuel just before we met with the manager. Manuel said Castillo said he needed a few extra days to get up to speed. He didn't want to join a team that was playing so well if he didn't think he was ready. Manuel respected the decision.

I guess this will be cause for celebration for those fans who somehow became convinced that the veteran second baseman is the Antichrist. As for me, I actually believe a Castillo who is reasonably healthy would benefit this team.
