Joe McDonald of The Providence Journal (click here for the post) is reporting that the Red Sox have sent Justin Masterson down to Triple A, temporarily recalling Jeff Bailey. It is expected that Clay Buchholz will be recalled to start the game on Friday against Baltimore, with Masterson being transitioned to the bullpen in the minors. I know Buchholz has been pitching well at Triple A, but what does Masterson need to do? He is 4-3 with a 3.67 ERA and 1.26 WHIP and is coming off a strong start against the Yankees (though he did take the loss). Buchholz has been great at ...
