 President’s Day
I mentioned a couple different times that I got the chance to talk to Nationals Team President Stan Kasten. It wasn’t exactly an exclusive — there were dozens of others in the room to hear him speak. And it wasn’t exactly an interview either — but he did answer any and all questions thrown at him. The first thing he said: “Sometimes you get in trouble for ... [link]

... in the visitors' clubhouse. Plus a million more details of what you'll see at Nats Park. From Nats 320. 5) Stan Kasten talks to a blogger about, among other things, blogs: There are other incidents in spring training. One blogger was out there having fun, talking to people, meeting people. Later that night he was in a restaurant where some of our players were, and he's writing all these experiences down on the web, and having a great time. And then one of our players walks in with what this blogger described as "two hot babes" on his arm, and it was just great....But it ...

StanSpeak: Speak For Yourself Edition

Stanley steams through an interview with Bugs and Cranks on a wide range of issues. It's got lots of interesting stuff, including why he hates blogs almost as much as agents. Read the whole thing. I'm just going to note a few things that I thought as I read. 1) He complains about HGH and the opposition to blood testing. He makes some great points, especially about how blood testing is probably a better alternative than whipping your dick out in front of someone else to pee. But I guess I'd follow up with him on the need to test for HGH given how the Mitchell Report and the ...

Blogs - A Point of View From Nationals President Kasten (Via Bugs and Cranks)
Published 2/22/2008 by Maryland Orioles' Fan at Oriole Post - Baltimore Orioles Analysis & News; The World of Baseball and Beyond
This morning, I was Bugs and cranks for a perspective on the Orioles, and I also caught a post that had an interview with Nationals' Team President, Stan Kasten. I found what he said on blogs particuarly interesting. While he doesn't show a real affinity towards them, he realizes their relevance and ability to keep fans engaged. With the profile of Deadspin, With Leather, Were are the Postmen and many other blogs out there, they are changing the way sports is covered. Stan on Blogs: ... I can’t stay on top of them all because there are so many of them. You have to be really careful. It’s a double edged sword. It does ...

Secret agent Stan Kastan?

More proof that Glavine was a two timing, four flushing, backstabbing sonofabitch! Quote from former President of the Atlanta Braves, Stan Kasten, as reported by Bugs and Cranks: I called [Tom] the first day you could talk to free agents and said listen, dude, you gotta go back to the Braves. And he said, “Yeah?” Irrefutable proof! Look at the way Glavine answers! He knew the whole time he was going back to Atlanta. He fucking knew!
