Prior pain free after first workout of spring
Mark Prior didn't experience any pain in his surgically repaired right shoulder during his first spring training workout with the San Diego Padres. Manager Bud Black said Sunday that all of his active pitchers were injury free, including Prior, who threw 31 pitches during Saturday's workout. Prior, an 18-game winner with the Chicago Cubs in 2003, hasn't pitched in the major leagues since Aug. 10, 2006.

Harden Throwing
baseballmusings.com — ... from all accounts, Rich Harden IS at Spring Training, and actually appears to be throwing, something we haven't seen in a while. And not to put too fine a point on it, but he may be the only thing standing between the A's and the coveted 90 loss season. With an untried offense, and an as-of-yet undecided starting rotation, the A's look to Harden to make up some of the gaping off-season losses. The offense may be okay. I'm guessing the A's do better than most people expect. Update : Prior is also pain free .
