Of course by English opponents, he means English with squads of largely non-English players — but let’s not be too pedantic.
I’m not sure I share his bold assertion however [neither does Ronaldo]. It’s unlikely the travelling United faithful do either.
I’m also highly skeptical of Fergie’s current Rafa Benitez-like rotation policy — obviously it worked nicely against Fulham and somewhat nicely against Lyon, but the potential for disaster is always just one match away.

... fans (knowing full well that they’d never return the sentiments) - not only does their team play poorly, their manager can’t win the Premier League AND they have owners who can turn gold into dust. Good going
