... I'm not sure why things were different for Josh Bard.  All I can figure is that Pujols didn't think that his slide hurt him that badly and, by time the extent of the injury was known, it was really too late to go back out and check on him.  I was hoping the PD story would say something about that, since I've only heard his comments about Young, but no such luck. ...

... After last night's carnage, I'd say we're ready for Dex and jbox's annual Dark Days of GLB post. Lots of stuff here - Pujols' reaction, why there was no replay and why Headley played third base yesterday.  (Re: Headly - Fuson's statement makes no sense to me.) BY ADAM RONIS Padres starter Chris Young left the game in the top of the third inning after taking a line drive off the face from a ball hit by Albert Pujols . Young immediately went down and had blood rolling down his face. Young walked off on his own power holding a bandage to his face. He went 2 1/3 innings, allowing four hits, one walk and three runs.
