If you didn't watch Golden State vs. Utah, shame on you. One Utah point guard, Deron Williams, was on the bench with foul trouble one minute into the game. His backup, Dee Brown, played valiantly for a few minutes, before he nearly snapped his back under Mehmet Okur, and was strapped onto a gurney for further examination. Walking off the court with help, he looked like he was about to pass ... [link]

Hey Jealousy

... You know, I ' m happy that we ' ve got a chance to land one of the top 2 picks in a historic draft. I ' m thrilled that we have a shot at 2 players that could change our team ' s fortunes literally overnight. However, I can’t help but feel jealous of the teams participating in what may be the most thrilling playoffs in recent memory (and we’re not even out of the 2nd round!). Think about what we’ve witnessed already. An 8 seed (Nellieball) knocking off a 1 seed (the Dirk face) in 6 games! The defending Champs knocked off in round one Canadian Steve Nash looking like a hockey player And last night Derek Fisher played the role of the cavalry It’s just going to get better as the stakes are raised. The Suns vs. Spurs series is like watching the finals early. The winner will have to deal with the Cinderella Warriors or the solid as a rock Jazz. Someone from the East (Detroit probably) is going to eme

About that Jazz/Warriors Game I Didn’t Watch: If This Ain’t Bloggy I’ll Kick Yer Ass

... . The long story comparatively long is that this game involved spinal injuries, a big Russian with a silly haircut playing point guard, and Derek Fisher leaving his very ill daughter’s side and then basically winning the game for the Jazz after arriving in the third quarter. Apparently I picked a bad night to stop sniffing glue stay out late-ish drinking the least expensive beer available. Henry Abbott, luckily, apparently does not have as many scheduling conflicts as we adjunct CSTB-correspondents/social butterflies. “If you didn’t watch Golden State vs. Utah, shame on you,” he writes, as if I didn’t already feel terrible about drinking Gennessee Cream Ale. He adds:

... urprise anyone if any of five or six teams won it all? The Warriors already dispatched the best regular season team; the Suns and Spurs are obvious threats; the Jazz look as good as anyone; the Pistons are a logical choice; the Bulls, if they can beat Detroit, maybe. New Jersey or Cleveland would be long shots, but the Nets still have their big three and Jason Kidd at the top of his game and Cleveland has James and a tough defense. When was the last time so many teams playing so many different styles had a serious chance to win the championship? And, officials are evern calling traveling violations! What's not to like? Sure, there are skeptics and people who generally just want to hate the NBA because of the millions they make. It is unfortunate when these people make their living writing about sports, and the NBA in particular. There are hundreds of talented bloggers who would likely love the opportunity to cover basketball for espn. Instead, we get Bomani Jones. Edit: OTOH,
