NFL News & Rumors — According to Albert Breer (Sporting News), the Raiders appear to be on the verge of signing CB Nnamdi Asomugha to a long term deal, and will avoid the use of their franchise tag this season (H/T to PFT). Given it’s current cap situation, the move to lock up Asomugha long term makes a ton of sense, as it would allow them to reduce his cap number from the exorbitant $11.7 million he would make as a franchise player to a much more manageable number.
