A sizzling shot into the lower right hand corner of the net completed a dazzling 50 yard solo run by Emmanuel Ekpo to win the game for the Columbus Crew against the Colorado Rapids at Crew Stadium Saturday. “That’s got to be a goal of the week candidate,” said Crew coach Sigi Schmid.

A sell-out crowd at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park watched the home team Colorado Rapids dominate the visiting Red Bulls from the kickoff to the final whistle on Friday night. Four Rapids scored in the July 4 fireworks display, with Tom McManus (pictured celebrating his goal in rather unorthodox style) getting the party started in the 24th minute.
