A familiar name and face is returning to San Francisco. Per various media reports, former 49ers fullback Tom Rathman has accepted an offer to become the team’s new running backs coach. Rathman replaces Tony Nathan, whom new coach Mike Singletary fired. The team has not yet announced the move, reportedly because Rathman has not signed a contract.

He fits exactly what Singletary has in mind and more importantly, he brings back a taste of the good ol' days to the organization.
