feartheraven2008 They are opinions that Brett shouldn't come to Baltimore because of the curse of the veteran syndrome and being too heavy with veteran players. Might I remind you all that we had a crappy 1999 season and everyone looked at the 2000 season as a repeat due to veterans and a washed up quarterback(Trent Dilfer). Brett Favre would be not only an excellent addition as quarterback. He would also make a perfect mentor to Joe Flacco and Troy Smith. The knowledge he has in his little pinkie is more than any other veteran quarterback out there. It would give some of us flashbacks to our great football history when the great Johnny Unitas ruled the field. SO WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH THAT?!

Could Brett Favre become a Buc? I say hell yeah!!!
Buc 'Em —
Oh think of the possibilities....Brett Favre and the Bucs, the Bucs and Brett Farve. Could it possibly happen? With the fact that Jeff Garcia wants a healthy raise and Bruce Allen and company are not foolish enough to give it to him, there is a significant chance that Brett Favre could end up a Tampa Bay Buccaneer (sorry, I'm choking on my spit right now). I have always dreamed that one day we could have a QB of Favre's ability, but never in my wildest dream did I think we could actually have the man himself. Old or not, the guy is a legend who can still play the game.

I’m a Broken Record
Lombardi Ave | A Green Bay Packers Blog —
I really hate do this to you. All of you, I really mean it, but something has to be said for everyone. I’ve already written two blogs on this in the last two days (Hey ESPN, STFU! and ESPN Continues to Slay Me), but this definitely takes the cake. The above image is the homepage for ESPN.com’s NFL section at around 12:20 AM ET on July 7, 2008. Yeah. The Brett Favre-lovefest continues.
ESPN, really, what is your problem? You have 11 (that’s ELEVEN) links devoted to Favre, including the ones mentioned before in Hey ESPN, STFU! Oh look, they were even kind enough to go through ...
Brett Favre officially linked to every team in the NFL
Niners Nation —
... Color me not surprised to see an article like this. Over at the WWL, Bill Williamson put together a piece discussing the chances of Brett Favre ending up on each of the 32 NFL teams. Normally idle speculation is ridiculous, but I like the general idea of this article. If Brett Favre actually considers a return, whether it be in Green Bay or elsewhere, it would certainly be useful to consider all his options. ...
Kickoff
DGDB&D: a Texans blog. —
Somewhere, a village is missing its idiot. Tim already commented on this, but, seriously, “Favre to the Texans” is one of the dumbest things I’ve heard in a long, looooong (see what I did there?) time. And claiming it is a good fit, considering that we have TWO QBs that most teams would be happy with is just beyond asinine.
Jared Zabransky is shocked — SHOCKED — that the WAC is not mentioned. Interesting article breaking down which conferences turn out the most NFL starters by position. I have nothing to add.

Baltimore and Brett Favre? No Way
Ebony Bird | A Baltimore Ravens blog —
Look, the Baltimore Ravens have already had their share of veterans coming to town full of promise and past performances, only to make themselves look foolish. Brett Favre is better than that, and Baltimore is better than that. The rumors should just stop.
While it may sell a lot more tickets, and garner some much needed national attention, there’s no team less fitted for Brett Favre as its quarterback. Too many egos, too many veterans and not enough time would make for a lethal combination in Charm City. If Brett Favre does come back, and all indications are that he won’t, it should be with a team that has a legitimate shot at ...
Blog-A-Rhythm: Don’t Be Dissin’ Ozzie’s Rap Skillz
SPORTSbyBROOKS —
• Rick Morrissey of the CHICAGO TRIBUNE learns that you can insult Ozzie Guillen’s managerial decisions, but you better not e-mail him criticisms of his commercial rappin’ skillz . Ozzie Guillen choke sign • The NEW YORK DAILY NEWS has the sad story of Bronx high school basketball player dying after collapsing during a pickup game . • The LA TIMES tells us we can snatch up Carson Palmer’s Laguna Beach home for just under $3 million . But if this view isn’t included , we’ll decline. • ESPN’s Bill Williamson hikes up Brett Favre’s chances of playing with each of the 32 NFL teams . Wonder where he got that idea . • Meanwhile, ...
More Brett Favre Madeup News: He's Not a Good Fit for the Texans
FanHouse —
Filed under: Packers, Texans, AFC South, NFL Rumors, HoustonAs you can't have enough Brett Favre news that is opined out of someone's rear end, Bill Williamson of ESPN recently wrote a list of the top potential destinations for the questionably retired quarterback. The alliterative headline of his piece reads: "Ravens, Texans, Bucs finer fits for Favre." Why the Texans? The Texans are on the verge of good things, but they are not exactly settled at quarterback. Sage Rosenfels is waiting in the wings should Matt Schaub have issues. If Favre were available, then Texans coach Gary Kubiak, a ...
This is all MJ's fault
The Stankoniforous Files —
Remember MJ's first retirement? Back in 1993, when he shocked the world and walked away. The greatest player in the world at the peak of his powers? Then he returned and played again. Then he retired after hitting the jumper over Byron Russell, then he retired. Again. Then he came back. Again.
What was all that about, Stank-0? Because MJ did it, many athletes think they can retire and then unretire and then retire....This all leads up back to Brett Favre. Word on the street is that he is seriously contemplating a return to the NFL. ESPN broke it down, like ...

I Dislike Your Favorite Team —
... swarming, with speculation that he could end up on another team. He will do more damage to his legacy than Chris Penn at an all-you-can-eat crabcake buffet, but the hype alone could send a dirigible across the Pacific. It's a bit close to training camp for this sort of nonsense, Brett. Go make another Wrangler ad if you want to toss the ol' pigskin around like a kid out there. Use your linebacker's mentality to teach kids to read. Do anything besides strapping on the ol' hard hat for Tampa Bay or Houston . Here's some other nonsense, as we wait for training camps to open in a ...

Favre's ideal destination: Tampa Bay?
ESPN.com - NFL Nation Blog —
Posted by ESPN.com's Kevin Seifert It's a big "if." But if the Green Bay Packers grant Brett Favre's request to be released, allowing him to sign with any NFL team, where would Favre land? To answer that question, you would have to consider at least three issues: Does the team have a playoff-caliber roster? Would Favre have a connection with the coaching staff? Is a West Coast offense in place? On paper, at least, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers best fit that criteria. Their interest in Favre is unknown, but over the years coach Jon Gruden rarely has been satisfied with his team's quarterback situation. (See ...
Not Him AGAIN
Honk if you love justice! —
Favre is about to pull a Jordan and un-retire, thus rendering ESPN unwatchable for the next month. Had to laugh at this tidbit from tWWL:
75-1 Buffalo Bills: The Bills appear committed to the young Trent Edwards. Favre would be an upgrade at this point, sure. But the Bills are not close to being a Super Bowl contender, and developing Edwards should be the priority.
Yes, they went through and figured out the odds on Favre joining every team. UGH. Please end this now.

Why Favre chose N.Y. over Tampa
WCBias | West Coast Bias Sports Blog | West Coast Sports News by West Coast Sports Fans, Covering Los Angeles Lakers, Dodgers and All Things West Coast —
Everyone at ESPN was “stunned” last night when Brett Favre signed off on a trade to the New York Jets over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Why was this a surprise, just because everyone at the network had gone on record saying Tampa Bay was the favorite? As if ESPN has never been wrong on a trade report (see Manny Not Being a Dodger and instead heading to Florida). So Bill Williamson was wrong when he wrote Tampa Bay was a 6 to 1 favorite, and Pat Yasinskas a little off when he said Favre was perfect for Tampa Bay.) For some reason, few caught on to Brett’s New York state of mind. But it’s simple really. If he went to ...
