I hate to put family business out in the street but like my therapist says, sometimes you just have to tell someone. I love my RBNY but I may be one of the few. It's no secret that Red Bull New York has not been lighting up the numbers attendance wise ( their most recent home game aside). ... | August 21st, 2007 It has been pretty easy to take potshots at MLS over the years and plenty of people have. The league hasn t always made good decisions, the level of play has been questionable and the attendance numbers in some cities have been depressing. You ve read it all before. That said, it is hard not to feel good about the direction the league is moving in this year, especially if you had a chance to watch Red Bull New York and the LA Galaxy play in front of a packed house this past weekend. Indeed, things are moving in the right direction but they still have a long way to go. Take a look at the average television audience for Red Bull New York games this season. From The Offside Rules : The New York Times soccer blog Goal is reporting that this season, the team is averaging a meager 1,031 households on MSG and FSNY, which is still 40 percent higher than last year’s 736. ...
