According to the Associated Press, Red Sox GM Theo Epstein has granted the Indians permission to take to pitching coach John Farrell about their current managerial vacancy. This is a huge development as many feel that the ex-Indians farm director is at the top of Mark Shapiro’s short list to take over for the fired Eric Wedge.  This news also may fly in the face of the ESPN report that had Farrell taking his name out of the running for the job, something Shapiro has said is news to him.
