The Red Bulls proposed 2008 season opening game against the expansion San Jose Earthquakes has been called off.
The match, which had been approved by Major League Soccer, hit a snag when it became clear that the Earthquakes new home, Buck Shaw Stadium in Santa Clara, would not have all of its renovations completed in time for the proposed March 29th date for the season opener.
