Boston Red Sox starter Tim Wakefield and Mariners starter Erik Bedard found themselves engaged in a pitcher’s duel on Wednesday night at Safeco Field. All it took was one mistake by Wakefield as Yuniesky Betancourt’s 3rd inning home run was the difference as the Mariners beat the Red Sox 1-0 in front of 30,752 fans.

Now That's How You Tackle a Drunk — Foul Balls
I understand why networks don't like to broadcast images of drunken morons running on the field, I mean, doing so would only encourage more drunken morons to run on the field. Fame is a powerful drug, even if it's fleeting. Still, by not letting the viewer at home partake in the drunken shenanigans, television sometimes robs us of some glorious moments.

Why You Shouldn't Run Onto The Field At Fenway — AwfulAnnouncing
This awesome video via TSB features a more than likely drunk fan running in the outfield at Fenway Park. You can guess what happens next.... BAM! The second angle is by far the best, but that kid just got....Jacked Up! I'm not quite sure how old this is but it's the first time I've seen it. If you've seen it before you have my apologies, but honestly...who wouldn't want to see that ...
Red Sox Fan Gets Crushed — FanIQ Blog
This video, courtesy of Big League Stew (via With Leather ), just made my whole week. No, correction: Made my whole year.
It's a jackass Red Sox fan being taught that he shouldn't run on to the field to celebrate his mid-life crisis.
That is one solid hit by the way by the security dude. Maybe the Patriots should put him on their injured reserve list so he can illegally help the ...
Red Sox Lose in Bottom of Ninth, Despite Manny's Heroics — SawxBlog
Manny watches #499 sail to the opposite field. (AP Photo/SawxBlog Illustration) You can't blame Manny Ramirez for the Red Sox losing last night in Seattle. Manny helped bring the Red Sox back from the dead with a three run sixth inning homer run to right field. The blast leaves Manny just one home run short of historic number 500 which truly is a number to be proud of. Manny not only ...
Ramirez One Step Closer To 500 Home Run Mark — Boston Red Sox @ fenwayfanatics.com
With a three-run blast in the sixth inning of Tuesday’s game against Seattle starting pitcher Miguel Batista, his ninth of the 2008 season, Boston Red Sox left fielder Manny Ramirez brought his career home run total to 499 at the same park, Safeco Field, where he hit number 400 in May of 2005. It marked his first since 12 May in Minnesota and puts him one shy of becoming the ...
Number 499 Wasn't Enough — The Mighty Quinn Media Machine
It was a strange night for the Red Sox in Seattle on Tuesday night. Manny Ramirez finally got the "498" taken off this blog by clubbing a three-run homer in the eighth inning to tie up the game with the Mariners at 3. But Mike Timlin kept up his terrible record at Safeco Field, as he gave up a run in the bottom of the ninth to give Seattle a 4-3 win. The Sox are now 1-4 on this current 10-game ...
Manny Ramirez hits #499 - Video — The Bottom Line
Manny Ramirez is finally heating up. Manny is 5 for his last 10 (.500) with a home run, 5 RBI, 2 runs and 2 walks. Home run #499 was an opposite field blast over the right field wall - a good sign that Manny is going with the pitches he is give, rather than trying to pull the ball. He's also cut down on the strikeouts, fanning just once in his last 14 at-bats. Tonight's he faces Erik Bedard. ...

Bartolo Colon: Stopper —
Last night in Seattle, Bartolo Colon gave the Red Sox his second outstanding effort since his promotion from Triple-A… he pitched seven innings, allowing one run on five hits and one walk while striking out four Mariners in the Sox 5-3 win.

Sox break it open — Extra Bases
The Red Sox have scored four runs in the eighth to take a 5-1 lead against Felix Hernandez.
A clutch two-out ground-rule double to left by Dustin Pedroia scored Julio Lugo with the second run. Mike Lowell reached on an infield single to third despite a great diving stop by Adrian ...
