Not-quite rivalry, not-quite win
Published 5/19/2007 by Jeff at District of Baseball - MLB returns to DC
... How do you spice up a series next week between the Nats and Reds, who have a record nearly as bad as the Nats? The Reds have (finally) filed a grievance with MLB about last July's trade, with the Reds alleging that the Nats withheld medical information about pitcher Gary Majewski, who went onto the DL shortly afterwards. Neither Jim Bowden nor his Reds counterpart, Wayne Krivsky, commented on the filing.

... After months of no-comments and veiled threats, Cincinnati general manager Wayne Krivsky has now filed formal grievance, according to the Washington Post. ... Waiting almost 11 months to do so, the Reds finally file the grievance over the Majewski trade. Is it me or is this almost anti-climatic? They've been threatening this since he went down last August and now the guy isn't even in the major leagues anymore. We'll have to see how this all shakes out but why did it take the Reds so long to file the grievance in the first place?

Enquirer Exclusive: Bowden hoping for a do over!

... . Obviously that little crybaby Wayne Krivsky had a point about Majewski being damaged goods, but it wasn't my responsibility to do his homework for him prior to the trade. Long story short -- he deceived us by letting us trade for Kearns and Lopez. The way I see it, useless goods are worse than damaged goods! So we're trying to trade Kearns and Lopez back to the Reds for Majewski and Bray, straight up. If Krivsky won't take my calls, then I will file a grievance with Major League Baseball to right this egregious wrong." ...
