Per Jason Reid of the Washington Post, the Redskins will open the season on Thursday, September 4 against the world champion New York Giants.
The game marks the 5th straight year that the Super Bowl team will open the following NFL season at home. It is the first time in the teams history that the Redskins will open the season on Thursday night.
