Packers GM Ted Thompson didn’t include the Eagles in the list of four teams — Tampa Bay, Carolina, Washington, and Atlanta — that were potential trade partners for the services of Brett Favre, but that hasn’t stopped Philadelphia Green Bay from at least sending a feeler, ESPN reports (via The Sporting News ). The Eagles do run an offense similar to Green Bay’s, which relies on a lot of spread formations to stretch the field horizontally, and Andy Reid is a disciple of Mike Holmgren, serving as Favre’s quarterbacks coach at one time. ... I honestly don't know what to make of this story. The Eagles, who already have Donovan McNabb and his heir apparent Kevin Kolb at quarterback, have apparently been in contact with the Green Bay Packers about the availability of Brett Favre, according to ESPN and Sporting News. Favre would be an excellent fit because he knows the West Coast offense, but where would he fit in on the depth chart? He would be great insurance if/when McNabb gets injured, but until that happens he would ride the bench, something he didn't want to do for the Packers. And, where would this leave the ...
