NBC Sports - College Football Talk — Eastern Michigan is set to hire Louisville defensive coordinator Ron English as its next head coach. English will be will be one of five African-American head coaches out of 119 Division I-A football teams. ESPN is reporting that English will sign a five-year deal for about $350,000 a year . English spent one year at Louisville and was previously on Lloyd Carr’s staff as the defensive coordinator at Michigan. The campuses of Michigan and Eastern Michigan are less than 10 miles apart.
