Steve McNair dead at 36.
Sports Media Watch — The recent rash of deaths involving well known figures has now extended to the sports world. Steve McNair , the '03 NFL MVP and former quarterback of the Titans and Ravens, was found shot and killed in his home on Saturday. He was just 36 years old. A female victim was also found dead. ESPN began a special edition of SportsCenter covering McNair's death at 5 PM ET. A rugby telecast that had been in progress was shifted to ESPN2. ESPNews is also devoting coverage to the news. As of 5:18 PM ET, NFL Network remained with regular programing.
