Report: Giants, Coughlin close on new deal

The Super Bowl champion New York Giants are reportedly set to reward head coach Tom Coughlin with a new contract. New York Newsday has reported that a long-term deal could be completed sometime this week. The paper cited a source as saying a new four-year pact through the 2011 season is in the works, worth about $5 million per year.
