USA Today caught up with injured UFC light heavyweight Mauricio “Shogun” Rua during this past Saturday’s UWC event in the Washington D.C.-area.
According to writer Sergio Non, Rua indicated to him that he believes he will be fully recovered from his ACL surgery by either October or November.

... Not exactly earth shattering news about Liddell. Personally, I’m hoping Rua can recover and get back into fighting shape to meet “The Iceman”. Although apparently, Rua will not be fully healed and ready to roll until at least October, ruling a September match with Liddell out completely. If Liddell really wants “Shogun” I suppose he could choose to wait an extra month or two, otherwise I’d like to see the Keith Jardine rematch. But that probably won’t happen if my visions of Silva dominating Jardine prove accurate. ...
