rmcc4444 +7jose calderon is now a top 5 fantasy point guard... woot!-
Patrick Best part of the trade right there - Calderon is freed. -
Odenized I'm feeling this trade for Caleron in terms of fantasy values as well. The Raps are a 20 ppg swingman away from greatness.-
The Zoner His numbers last year were great. Shot 52%/43%/90%. 8.3-1.5 Asst/TO ratio.
Underrated--clap clap clapclapclap

This can't be good for DJ Augustin who looked like a likely choice at No. 11 before the Pacers landed Ford. By the way, this one can't be completed until July 9 due to contract-related things I cannot understand. ...

... is reporting that Charlotte has acquired the #20 pick from Denver where it's hoping to land Roy Hibbert, if available. Then, ESPN.com has announced that Jermaine O'Neal will indeed be headed to Toronto, in exchange for Rasho Nesterovic, TJ Ford and the #17 pick. There, Indiana may also select a center. Kosta Koufas? Robin Lopez? With both of these transactions taking place, the Jazz are left with "a mighty slim" chance of landing Hibbert or Lopez if they stay put. Would the Jazz be willing to trade forward for a chance to get one of the two? ...

... Quick interjection, apropos of very little: Jermaine O'Neal was reportedly just traded to the Raptors, for T.J. Ford, Rasho Nesterovic, and the 17th overall pick. At extremely first glance, this deal seems like a push... O'Neal could be absolutely huge in Toronto, but as we all know the reverse could be true as well. T.J. Ford's a nice little player; not the caliber of O'Neal, although both share a fairly similar recent medical history. Basically it's a gamble for both teams, only the Pacers get Nesterovic and #17 as well because let's face it, their gamble is ...

... The Raptors and Pacers sealed the deal on their much rumored swap of Jermaine O'Neal and TJ Ford earlier tonight. Indiana will also get Rasho Nesterovic, Toronto's 1st-round pick (17th overall) and another player to balance out the salaries. The deal won't be official until July 9th, when base-year compensation players like Ford can be traded. ...
J. O'Neal Heading North of the Border

First trade of the '08 Offseason. Jermaine O'Neal for T.J. Ford, Nesterovic and 17th pick. Pacers now won't need a PG at No. 11 in the Draft and they get an extra pick at 17. Calderon is now a starting PG. Bosh and O'Neal, that's a nice frontline. : : : : : : : : Bobby Simmons and Yi Jianlian for Richard Jefferson? The Nets gotta get another draft pick or something out of that. Rumor is that R.J. is a salary-dump situation, freeing up space for a bid at Lebron when he hits free agency.

... Those 10 seem to be the consensus top 10, in some order. It was a certainty that the Pacers would take either DJ Augustin or Mario Chalmers at 11, until they traded for TJ Ford. Now, who knows? Like Seattle's pick, a lot depends on this one. They almost have to use the No. 17 pick they now have on one of those young bigs that will probably suck (McGee, Jordan, Randolph, Arthur, Speights, Koufos) so filling a need at 2-guard works, especially when it's a guy that can actually defend someone. Rush isn't going to be a franchise guy, but with Ford, Granger, Dunleavy, Rush, Murphy ...

Jermaine O'Neal and his bad joints are on their way to Toronto. The initial reaction of the (remaining) Pacer fans will most likely be mixed-positive. Jermaine has simply missed too many games the past few seasons. You can always count on O'Neal for a mid-season and then late-season injury. This pattern began soon after the palace brawl and has gotten progressively worse. ...
Almost Draft Day Trade Talk
Published 6/26/2008 at ESPN.com - True Hoop - Blog
Most of the talk is about Jermaine O'Neal reportedly being traded to the Raptors, or the Nuggets trading the Bobcats their 20th pick. (I have heard, as have many others, that the Nuggets were dead-set on picking Ty Lawson, and when Lawson rededicated himself to college the pick lost some luster.) There is also some chatter worth checking out involving big-name Pistons and big-name Warriors. And don't forget the mystery of the second pick. But I am a Blazer fan, and the trade talk that I'm fixated on involves ...

Filed under: Raptors, Pacers, Eastern, Indianapolis, TorontoThe rumors had been fluttering for the past 24 hours, and it's apparently a done deal. Jermaine O'Neal is headed to Toronto, in exchange for TJ Ford, Rasho Nesterovic, and the #17 pick. For O'Neal, this is the fresh start he's been waiting years for. He's still a capable big man, and working in tandem with Chris Bosh means he doesn't have to shoulder the load under a body riddled with injuries. For Ford, this settles the ...

... The Indiana Pacers and Toronto Raptors have agreed to a deal sending Jermaine O'Neal to Toronto for T.J. Ford, Rasho Nesterovic, and the #17 pick. Now Toronto has a matching set of power forward-centers: yesterday's and today's. Indiana now has two formerly-excellent point guards. This move would have been the blockbuster of the year three seasons ago. Now it seems kind of like odd parts for both, with a few more pieces to Indiana and an attempt to match Boston's firepower for Toronto. Seems more ...
