The Warriors have signed Evans to a three-year, $6.4 million deal, according to the Riverside Press-Enterprise. Warriors sign Maurice Evans
Published 28 days ago at ClipperBlog.com Blog for the Los Angeles NBA Clippers Fans
What does this mean to you, the consumer? The fact that Golden State would commit 3 years/$6.4M to a 6'5" swingman might be a harbinger of their willingness to let Kelenna Azubuike walk.

Maurice Evans Signs with Golden State Warriors

We all figured that Maurice Evans wouldn't return to the Magic next season; Keith Bogans' picking up his player option determined that much. Well, now we know where he's headed: the Bay Area. The Warriors signed Evans to a three-year, $6.4 million deal, reports the Mercury News (ht: ClipperBlog). He'll work out well in Golden State, which prizes three-point shooting and athleticism. Evans provides both those things (80 triples and 73 dunks last season), and does so at a reasonable price. Congratulations to Maurice. Thanks for your ...

The Clippers Trade Brevin Knight for Jason Hart, Warriors Unlikely to Match Azubuike

... a crash diet of nothing but ice cream (also a crap shoot). Hart’s got better size, is as good a defender and plays very hard. All in all, you’re talking about a solid player, no more, no less. But you can do worse than solid in a backup player, so bully for the Clips on an upgrade, even if not earth shattering. I thought resigning Hart for the ‘08 season would have been a good call, so my “inner GM” was finally honored, if a season later. In other news, the Golden State Warriors have reportedly reached a deal with former Laker Maurice Evans , virtually guaranteeing they won’t ...

... Another player who had been linked to the Celtics as a possible Posey replacement was Maurice Evans. Mercury News reports that the Warriors have signed Evans to a three-year, $6.4 million deal. This means that the Warriors will not match the offer that their restricted free agent Kelenna Azubuike signed with the Clippers. Evans would have made sense to replace Posey because he is an athletic swingman who's known as a solid defender and good three-point shooter and would have filled those roles left vacant by Posey's departure. ...

Warriors Talking to Mo Evans
The Warriors still need a back-up swing man, but it may not be Kelenna Azubuike, as I expected. According to a Warriors source, they are talking to swingman Maurice Evans, who was no longer needed in Orlando once Mickael Pieteus signed with the Magic. The Riverside Press Enterprise reported he signed for three years, $6.4 million. But he has not signed the deal, the source said. The numbers ...
Kurt Thomas and Marcus Williams off the Market; Whom Will the Magic Target Next?
The Spurs re-signed Kurt Thomas , the forward/center whom the Magic coveted at the deadline. Meanwhile, a day after acquiring combo guard Keyon Dooling from Orlando, the Nets sent backup point guard (and object of Magic fans' affection) Marcus Williams to the Warriors for a future first-round pick. Oh, and the Magic's chances of re-signing Carlos Arroyo -- already a long shot -- took a big ...
