 Return of The Powder Blues
In 2008, the Royals and Blue Jays will be wearing powder blue uniforms every once in a while. Since no one under 21 years of age probably remembers what powder blue uniforms looked like, here's what powder blue baseball looked like for 13 MLB teams. [link]

BLUE ON BLUE

... Home Run Derby has a great post on the road “blues” that teams used wear back in the 70’s. The Royals and Blue Jays are going back to the blue road uni as an alternate for the Blue Jays is is certainly an improvement as the current Blue Jay uniform especially the cap is a cross between a gas station attendent and Con Ed meter reader. ...

Just when you thought the student-athletes at Columbia, Rhode Island and North Carolina had hues of baby blue, sky blue, Columbia blue, maya blue, light blue, Carolina blue, robin-egg blue and, uh, cornflower blue all locked up, the big-league baseball brass in Toronto and Kansas City do away with Royal blue and move back in on powder blue. Apparently, the Blue Jays and Royals will again wear powder-blue uniforms in 2008, something no Major League Baseball club has done in 17 years. Powder Blue MLB Unis Are Making a Comeback
Published 11/29/2007 at The Sporting Blog
By Chris Mottram Maybe it's 80s day for The Sporting Blog. First, Phil Collins, now, powder blue uniforms. Both the Royals and Blue Jays are breaking out the baby blues next season. The last team that was man enough to rock the powder was Kansas City in '91. There was a reason for that. Namely, that they're ugly: No word on weather or not neckbeards, stirrups, and elastic waistbands will become mandatory for the Jays and Royals. While baseball's at it, they should totally make the Astros ...

A Team A Day [Day 3] Toronto Blue Jays Preview
Published 3/5/2008 by tips@sportable.com at Sportable, Where Sports are a Lifestyle
More of the Same, Eh? You have to feel for the Toronto Blue Jays. They’ve won 80+ games in four of the last five seasons, but have just a single 2nd place finish to show for it. That’s the story of a team, although solid from top to bottom, is trapped in a division with baseball’s bullies, the New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox. Despite announcing Flashback Fridays at Rogers Centre, it’s impossible to expect this team to raise a banner in 2008. Bats. There’s a couple of new faces on the left side of the infield but besides that, expect more of the same from the Jays. ...
