Via Tracy Ringolsby back on July 10th - Consider: Since Mike Torrez won the final game of the 1977 World Series for the Yankees, the only starting pitcher acquired in midseason who has won a World Series game was Jeff Weaver, who, after losing Game 2 of the 2006 Series for St. Louis, won the Game 5 clincher against Detroit by allowing two runs, one earned, in eight innings.
