After thinking about it for a few days, NASCAR dealt a harsh penalty to Carl Edwards and his team for a missing oil tank lid cover. Edwards was docked 100 points and the 10 points of seeding for the victory if he makes the Chase, while his crew chief is $100K lighter and has 6 weeks to think about it. Seems a little harsh to me. NASCAR handed out their decisions on penalty infractions and penalty appeal reviews. Here are the results: Robby Gordon : His appeal was heard and he was given back his crew chief and, most importantly, he got his 100 driver/owner points back, which moves him from 37th to 21st in the standings. NASCAR has come down on Carl Edwards and his team big time. Carl looses 100 points including the 10 points he got for the win of the race. The car Owner Jack Roush also get a 100 point fine.
