Root Cause

I'm assuming the only reason Norv Turner is in San Diego is because A.J. Smith lost a bet to Al Davis and the payoff was that Smith had to do something even more stupid than the Raiders could manage - like firing a coach that led the team to a 14-3 season (including the playoff game) and hiring a proven loser with a 58-82-1 record.

It's the same offense the Bolts had last year. But this year they look like the only team they might be able to beat is Notre Dame.

Hmmm...same players. All new coaches. My aging mind is groping toward the real root cause here.

So c'mon, A.J. Help me out. Help me believe. Tell me that there's someone in the 2008 draft that you want so badly that you were willing to sacrifice the 2007 season to get him. Tell me that there's some overpaid player that's dragging the team down and you orchestrated all of this to get him to walk out and open up the roster. Something. Anything.

Help me believe you're not the moron you appear to be. You fired a man with a 61% win record to hire a man with a 41% win record. What next? Bob Davie?

Got to go

There are certain people in the NFL that need to go. With week 3 almost past us, it is starting to look like San Diego made a huge mistake letting Marty go. A team that was creamed by New England, then loses to Green Bay (a huge surprise, thus far) with LT and Rivers going at it on TV. It's probably safe to say with the tough schedule and Norv Turner at the helm, he might not be back next year.
