Rosenthal's Latest: Delgado, Sexson, Crisp, Byrd
Published 5/18/2008 by Nat Boyle at MLB Rumors - MLBTradeRumors.com
Ken Rosenthal has some items worth discussing in his latest Full Count video: Trade Carlos Delgado for Richie Sexson? Rosenthal doesn't see why not. They're both in walk years, neither have a no-trade-clause, and they're both making roughly the same amount. I'll add to that by noting both have arguably met more success hitting in each other's league. The Indians may put Paul ...

Roshenthal: Delgado For Sexson
Published 5/18/2008 by NYteamsWin (noreply@blogger.com) at Mets Prospects Minors Blog | MetsProspectus.com
The second time in a week this trade has been proposed last time by a New Jersey newspaper this time by Ken Rosenthal. Carlos Delgado for Richie Sexson straight up. Rosenthal dicusses how neither has a no-trade clause, their money is the same, and both have been unproductive. ...I have also been someone who has liked Sexson and still see some power in him, unlike Delgado could serve the Mets well. The right-handed bat, who fields the ball well, and can hit the long ball opposed to a terrible fielding 1st baseman, who has not hit a lick. Don't see the Mets actually making this trade not up their ally so if Rosenthal wants a negative that is it. ...

Rosenthal Suggests Delgado for Sexson

It’s an interesting proposition.  Seattle has been interested in Carlos Delgado in the past, and his left handed bat would fit nicely into the lineup and Safeco Field, but I’m not sure such a deal would be in Seattle’s best interest.  While Delgado strikes out slightly less and is hitting for a better average, Richie Sexson has been the more productive player this season; more homers, RBI and a much better OPS+.  Sexson is even walking more, despite Delgado being a walk machine earlier in his career. Either way, I don’t see GM Bill Bavasi pursuing such a deal.  The upside, in my opinion, is insignificant enough to keep the Mariners from bothering with it.  The Mets might be ...

Original Ideas

Since we know that all it will take is a two or three game losing streak and everyone will be talking about getting rid of Willie Randolph again. So, with that said ESPN.com Insider Buster Olney brings up a name for a replacement that I haven’t heard before: An NL talent evaluator came up with an interesting name for the Mets, if they decide to change managers: Jim Fregosi. “He knows all about the bright-light and big-city stuff from his days in Philly and he would know how to handle New York, and he would be good with Jose Reyes,” the evaluator said. “The veteran players would really like him. And his teams play ...
