Royals reportedly trade Teahen to the ChiSox
Lone Star BallThe Royals have reportedly traded Mark Teahen to the Chicago White Sox for third baseman Josh Fields and second baseman Chris Getz. This makes no sense for Chicago, as best as I can tell.  Teahen is supposedly going to replace Jermaine Dye as their right fielder.  Teahen is average to a little below average defensively in right field.  Since his breakout 2006 season, he has posted EQAs of .259, .240, and .248, which is not good for a COF.  Fangraphs has Teahen has having a .1 WAR in 2009 and a .3 WAR in 2008. Oh, and ...

Real Dirty Rumor: Teahen traded to the Whitesox?
The Real Dirty Mets Blog — MLBTR has been all over a potential trade between the Royals and the Whitesox involving Teahen and Chris Getz. Royals Agree To Trade Mark Teahen To ChiSox? How does this relate to the Mets?  Two ways that I can think of.  The Mets were rumored to be interested in Teahen during the season last year.  Second this may officially point to the end of Dye and the Sox as according to reports Teahen would mot likely play RF.

Teahen for Fields and Getz
Sabernomics — ... I’m disappointed to see the season end, the end of the World Series marks the beginning of baseball’s second season: the hot stove league. And I have to admit that I enjoy following baseball transactions almost as much as I enjoy watching the games on the field. Teams are wasting no time in preparing for next year. It is my plan to spend significant time evaluating the trades and free-agent signings here this offseason. I kick off the hot stove season by discussing a trade between the Kansas City Royals and Chicago White Sox that sends Mark Teahen to ...

Al's Ramblings — The Royals trading Teahen for a pair of guys who can't hit a lick? Given the Royals' track record, that's exactly what I'd expect. If I were Doug, I'd offer to take Dave Dejesus off their hands for a handful of magic beans. ...

Abreu signs, Dye bought out, Hardy traded
The Bottom Line — ... . Dye hit .302 with 20 ding dongs in the first half in this season, but disappeared down the stretch. The Chi Sox have added Mark Teahen , who can play both OF and 3B, but it looks like the White Sox want him at third... and Gordon Beckham at second. ...

News and Notes
Raise the Jolly Roger — ... Vasquez, Eric Hacker, and Steve Lerud. Vasquez, of course, pitched horribly in the second half as an emergency starter/bullpen guy with the Bucs. Hacker was decent in Indianapolis and did not impress in a few late September appearances. Lerud is a catcher with far too much depth around him (Doumit, Diaz, Jaramillo, Sanchez) to keep around. Two notable trades today: the Twins sent Carlos Gomez to the hated Brewers in exchange for former Pirate-killer J.J. Hardy. Also, the Royals traded Mark Teahen to the White Sox for Chris Getz and Josh Fields. Speaking ...
