Hideo Nomo's pitching career might be over. The Kansas City Royals have designated the right-hander for assignment to make room for callup Luke Hochevar. Nomo is among the Japanese pioneers in the major leagues. He was trying to make a comeback at the age of 39 after having elbow surgery in 2006. [link]
