BASEBALL: Some Guys Have All The Luck
Published 5/20/2008 by Baseball Crank at Baseball Crank
... Jon Lester throws a no-hitter. I don't begrudge Lester, who has had an inspiring road back from cancer - this is your basic Hollywood ending to that return - but Red Sox fans have had their share of these; someday, Mets fans will get a turn to enjoy a no-no. ...

... the ball glance of his glove. The error allowed both Pedroia and Big Papi to score giving the Red Sox a 4-0 lead. Youkilis followed that with a ground rule double scoring Manny and making it 5-0 Red Sox. Hochevar got Drew to fly out to end the carnage. The Red Sox added two more runs in the 6th inning when Varitek hit a 2-run homer to right field. What an amazing night at the Fens!!! One that Jon Lester and the Red Sox will remember for the rest of their lives. Jon Lester no-hitter boxscore

Game 44: Kansas City @ Boston
Published 5/20/2008 by Lee Warren (noreply@blogger.com) at Royal Reflections
Game Date: May 19, 2008 Red Sox 7, Royals 0 / Box Score WP: Lester (3-2), LP: Hochevar (3-3) Royal Home Runs: None Royals Record: 21-23 The last time it happened, I was six years old. And frankly, I don't even remember it. That's probably a good thing. But being no-hit by Nolan Ryan was close to a norm. The guy did it seven times; so the time he did it against the Royals sort of blends in with all the others. Enter Jon Lester--the feel good story of last season; the 24-year-old cancer survivor who found himself pitching in the World ...

Top Ten Tuesdays: A Few Things to Smile About
The Red Sox have been outshining our dearly beloved Yankees in every facet of the game lately, signing the coveted big shots, winning championships, and getting all-star performances out of their youngsters. No-Hitters: Where The Eff Were You?
The four Red Sox-thrown no-hitters in my lifetime: Jon Lester, last night: Saw beginning of game at home in greater Boston area, but was playing 9 PM softball game when it ended. By some crazy coincidence, two of my partners-in-Red Sox-ness, my friend Pat and my girlfriend Kim, weren't able to ...
Red Sox No-Hitters Through The Years
In the early spring of 2001, I had never seen a Red Sox pitcher throw a no-hitter… three had been thrown in my lifetime, but they had all occurred when I was too young to comprehend the magnitude of the accomplishment. On April 4, 2001, I sat in the TV room of my home in Berwick, Maine, and tears brushed my cheek as Hideo Nomo finished off the first Red Sox no-hitter I had ever seen. ...
No No for Lester
Jon Lester of the Red Sox has thrown the first no-hitter of 2008. With a 130 pitch start the cancer survivor baffled Royals hitters all night and earned himself a spot in baseball history. Lester finished with a line of 9IP, 0H's, 2BB's, and 9K's. Going into this game Lester was throwing extremely well allowing only 6ER's in his previous 25.1 innings pitched while striking out 17. Try to Enjoy This
It’s easy to forget now, but things didn’t always go this well for the Red Sox. Seems like just a few short years ago, the Red Sox weren’t coming back from 0-3 holes, winning World Series, throwing no-hitters, and seeing numerous exciting young players come up to the big league team. Jon Lester’s no-hitter tonight is just one of many moments over the past few years ...
Jon Lester, Lymphoma and Fortitude
Congratulations to Jon Lester, who pitched the 18th no-hitter in Red Sox history today. Jon Lester's No-Hitter Celebration Complete With NESN F-Bomb
Jon Lester dominated the Royals earlier tonight to the tune of 9.0IP, 9 K's, 2 Walks, 0 Hits which is Algonquin for a no hitter. Enjoy the celebration and the subsequent f-bomb at the 1:25 mark..... You know what? Good for whoever said that on-air (my guess is Timlin). No hitters are unfuckingbelivable and should be described as such. Good times in Boston as Cancer Survivor Jon Lester ...
Game of a Lifetime
5/19/08: Jon Lester Throws No-Hitter at Fenway Park From the time I started watching the Red Sox religiously around 1987 (Roger Clemens’ prime) right up until the beginning of the 21st century (the beginning of Pedro’s decline) I was always waiting for the no-hitter that never arrived. History behind Jon Lester's no-hitter, other MLB no-hitter history you probably don't know
Congrats to Boston Red Sox left-hander Jon Lester and his no-hitter Monday night against the Kansas City Royals. Jon Lester Threw a No-Hitter
Red Sox lefty Jon Lester's big accomplishment of the night was preventing the Royals from getting any hits with his nine-strikeout complete game shutout. That's a no-hitter !
