The Jacksonville Jaguars and quarterback David Garrard are working on a new deal. But it’s not clear at this point whether a deal will be done. What is clear is that Garrard’s camp opened the discussions by asking for more than the amount paid to Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo, who signed last season a six-year, $67 million deal, with roughly $30 million guaranteed. But the team initially ... [link]

Bryant on board
Published 3/20/2008 at Projo Pats Blog
According to profootballtalk.com, the Patriots have signed free agent cornerback Fernando Bryant to a one-year deal. Bryant, a nine-year veteran, apparently also had an offer on the table from Denver but decided to join New England. A Georgia native, he spent the last four seasons with the Lions, after playing for Jacksonville for the first five years of his career. The Jaguars chose Bryant (5-foot-10, 175 pounds) 26th overall out of Alabama in 1999. Heavily involved in community work, Bryant played in all 16 games last season, with 69 tackles, two ...

If he were to sign with Oakland, Dilfer would serve as a backup and mentor to JaMarcus Russell, who is expected to become the starter in 2008 after being the first pick in the 2007 NFL draft. The Raiders also have Andrew Walter on the roster, and it is possible that Daunte Culpepper will re-sign with Oakland. Source: Fresno BeeProfootballtalk.com ...

Felix Jones visiting the Dallas Cowboys

... Yup, it’s a flyer for a party here in Atlanta this weekend that promises to make it rain and includes an appearance by the girls of Club Blaze and by the Pacman. Club Blaze is a strip club here in Atlanta. Yours truly was thinking about attending the party and giving you guys the lowdown on the scene. Alas, Pro Football Talk called the number on the flyer and was told the party is canceled. Seriously though, I don’t know what Pacman’s intentions were in regards to this party but this is exactly the kind of thing he needs to avoid to have any chance at a ...

Jerry Jones still thinking about landing a vet WR
Published 4/1/2008 by Dave Halprin (Grizz) <info@bloggingtheboys.com> at Blogging The Boys: Front Page Posts
... PFT.com is posting that other teams have joined the party in terms of courting Pacman. But so far, no one has been able to accurately identify another team and this all appears to be based on a comment by Goodell that some teams have inquired about Pacman’s official status. Calling the league office for clarification is one thing; actively engaging the Titans in trade talks is another. So far, the Cowboys seem to be the only ones actively engaged in trade talks. Dallas is essentially bidding against itself and I’m glad to see Jerry has slowed his roll on this one, ...

As likely as their intent to move down in the draft is simply a team doing its proper due diligence on a player that could conceivably fall to them. One of the main reasons most reporters cite for the Falcons to take Ryan is that he ...

Pacman Jones doesn't have the $20,000 he owes Caesars Palace
Published 5/23/2008 at Shutdown Corner
... $20,000 is indeed next to nothing to a casino, but apparently not to Pacman Jones. Seriously, the guy doesn't have $20,000? He was the 6th overall draft pick in 2005. Pac used to make $20,000 in about four plays. I'd ask where all that money went, but I think we all know the answer. I think the lesson to be learned here for all of our younger readers is that kids, you do not make it rain with $100 bills. Use singles. Quarters, if you have to. Gracias, Pro Football Talk.

If Edwards can play the run well and pick up eight sacks this year, the Vikings will be thrilled. Saying you plan on getting 23 sacks this year (almost 1.5 a game) when you've only reach that pace once in your first 27 games just makes it appear that you have an unrealistic view of your self.
