Ryan Clark jacks up Wes Welker!!!
Steelers Today - A Pittsburgh Steelers blog —
For those of you who missed it, Ryan Clark put a devastating hit on Patriots’ receiver Wes Welker. Welker never returned to the game after the hit, so I’m going to assume that he was seeing birds and hearing bells.
Let’s take one more look at the hit.

Ryan Clark Lays Out Wes Welker; Hope It Was Worth It Because It's Going to Cost Him
FanHouse —
by Ryan Wilson Filed under: Patriots, Steelers, AFC East, NFL Fans, NFL InjuriesI'm pretty sure the NFL Collections Department might make an example out of Steelers safety Ryan Clark. Late in the third quarter, with Pittsburgh leading 23-10, Clark leveled a defenseless Wes Welker, who would stagger to the sidelines and not return to the game. In fairness, "defenseless" doesn't begin to describe what happened; it was about a bazillion times worse than that. Clark was rightly flagged for unnecessary roughness on ...
You're God Damn Right!
One For The Other Thumb —
The air was cold The rain was falling The defense was stout And the offense, NOT stalling There were some scares early on My stomach was in tears But that wasn't the game So much as it was the beers In the end we prevailed We told those dudes what was up And by the end of the game No beer remained in my cupI don't think there are enough words in the world to express how absolutely awesome it was to watch the Steelers DOMINATE the Patriots the way they did yesterday. 33-10, but it could easily have been 33-3 had it not been for Big Ben's unsightly interception on ...
Ryan Clark Hit On Wes Welker
FanIQ Blog —
The Patriots spent their Sunday getting thoroughly beat down at home by the Steelers who pretty much had a field day in terms of abusing Matt Cassel. But as bad a day as Cassel had, at least he didn't wind up like Wes Welker. ...
Ryan Clark absolutely demolishes Wes Welker
Sports Crackle Pop —
Not only did the Pittsburgh Steelers score 30 straight points to crush the New England Patriots, they used such brute force and bonecrushing hits to send the message that this team is the AFC’s best. I seriously believe the Steelers would beat the Titans in a championship game. They are the best against the run and would force Kerry Collins to beat them with his arm. Chances are that won;t happen.
Anyone still want to pay Matt Cassel 8 million a year?
And since Steeler fans BBJ219 and Guida want to see the decleating of Wes Welker I will post the video for them.
Bears Reposting: Ryan Clark Destroys Wes Welker
D.C. Steeler Nation —
I already posted this video over at KSK, but - what the hey - I feel like it's something that should be plastered on every corner of the Internet. Because of it, I'm sure Ryan Clark will be receiving his third fine of the season, though at least this one isn't for honoring his dead friend. Pats fans, naturally, are pissed that Steelers fans are celebrating a penalized hit. It's not exactly dirty but it did get flagged, so whatever, it's pretty standard for any tipped pass in the middle of the field. If this was Jabar Gaffney, or even Randy Moss, it wouldn't be as ...
Wes Welker Hit By Steelers Ryan Clark
The Critical Fanatic —
Best hit of this week’s NFL action goes to Ryan Clark for his massive hit on Wes Welker. Not exactly the cleanest hit in the world as evidenced by the excessive referee laundry thrown at ground zero, but seeing Patriots get jacked up makes my day. Huge props to Wes Welker for getting up shortly after the big hit and walking. Sometimes people faces cave in. Just ask Anquan Boldin. Filed under: NFL ...

The Goose's Roost —
Wes Welker got lit up as the Patriots lost at home again. What's that you say? The Bills could have made a game up against two division opponents? I'm sorry, I can't hear you over J.P. Losman's postgame press conference. Boy, you'd think we won something by the way that cocky bastard spoke. If he played with that confidence on the field he would be a bearded Drew Brees. Or, well, competent.
Ryan Clark Is Sorry for Almost Putting a Hole in Wes Welker
FanHouse —
by Ryan Wilson Filed under: Patriots, Steelers, AFC East, AFC North, NFL Fans, NFL Injuries, NFL Video, NFL Referees You may have heard something about Steelers safety Ryan Clark knocking Patriots wideout Wes Welker through the Gillette Stadium turf on Sunday. Opinions vary as to the legality of the hit (by the letter of the rules, it was a penalty -- don't kill the messenger, just saying), and there used to be a time in the NFL when hard tackles didn't automatically result in a flag and a ...
Top Ten Dumbest Self-Inflicted Injuries
RealClearSports - Blog —
Professional athletes are at major risk every time they step out on the field. They amaze us with their athletic grace and ability to withstand the most brutal hits (just look at Wes Welker). But while it's amazing how most of them brilliantly and regularly manage to avoid injury, it's equally amazing how a few of them have ...

Football Outsiders —
by Will Carroll Admittedly, I'm biased, but looking at the standings, it's easy to tell which teams have managed to avoid major injuries. Those at the top are healthy and those at the bottom are often not. Sure, there's a team like the Patriots that can overcome a crushing Tom Brady injury and stay in contention, but even the best days of Matt Cassel aren't Bradyesque (and he hasn't bedded even a B-list starlet yet, so how good can he be? Oh, wait. ...

The Bad News Bloggers —
And you might recognize this one. This weekend Ryan Clark was accused of laying a vicious and illegal hit on Wes Welker. I say, yes it was vicious and yes it was illegal (he did leave his feet). But meriting a significant fine or suspension? I don't see it. Given the speed of the game and the tipped ball, I'm not too upset.
NFL defends Clark's hit on Welker
Projo Pats Blog —
NFL vice president of officiating Mike Pereira told The Boston Herald yesterday that the hit Sunday by Pittsburgh Steelers safety Ryan Clark that knocked out Patriots wide receiver Wes Welker, while nasty to watch, was within the rules, except for being somewhat late. Clark was penalized 15 yards on the play and many have accused him of taking a cheap shot at a defenseless receiver. Pereira told the Herald's Ron Borges that despite a widespread perception, it is not illegal for a defensive player to leave his feet to make a hit, as Clark did on the Welker hit. Here's how Pereira explained the rules: "It is a foul to hit with your helmet ...

I suppose we should move on to the Cowboys game (and by "we" I mean "me"), but just one more thing: this is freaking unbelievable. Mike Pereira will now disappear without a trace.
NFL Defends Ryan Clark's Hit on Wes Welker
FanHouse —
by Ryan Wilson Filed under: Patriots, Steelers, AFC East, AFC North, NFL Fans, NFL Referees This might be the most shocking thing you'll hear all season: NFL head of officiating Mike Pereira says that when Ryan Clark tried to saw Wes Welker in half, he was well within the rules. As in: he shouldn't have been flagged. Um ... what? Don't misunderstand, I miss the days when players were actually allowed to tackle each other, it's just that the NFL -- through their actions this season, anyway -- had ...
NFL Defends Ryan Clark Hit On Wes Welker
FanIQ Blog —
You may remember this hit above from this weekend's Steelers/Pats game. It's the one where Wes Welker had his brain scrambled by Ryan Clark, even though Welker was pulling up and wasn't anywhere close to the ball. And just to top it all off, Clark also launched himself into Welker, leaving both his feet, which is, you know, sort of dangerous. See, for all those reasons, the refs threw a flag on the play.
Naturally, today the NFL has stepped in to fine Clark for this vicious hit, right?
Hahahaha, no, of course not. Instead they're here to tell us just how legal it is. ...

Shaq Loves Ryan Clark's Hit on Wes Welker
Pittsburgh Sports and Mini Ponies - Pittsburgh Sports Videos, Humor and Crack Analysis. And Ridiculously Small Horses —
[image] Last month, there was tons of hoopla surrounding a fake Twitter page that claimed to be from Shaquille O'Neal. It ended up being exposed as a farce, but it forced the real Shaq's hand, and made The Big Aristotle open his own, official Twitter page. You can read it here . The Diesel is using a combination of text messages and computer typing to update his ever-changing status, and it's apparent that he made the right career choice. Writing isn't his strong suit, but he did throw out some support to a certain, beleaguered Steeler via text message . November 30 - Did u c hit dat hit yan clark put on wes walker I'm guessing ...

Wes Welker: Is "Gun Shy" One Word Or Two?
FakeTeams —
During last week's Patriots-Steelers game, New England WR Wes Welker took an enormous hit over the middle from Steelers' safety Ryan Clark, a hit that looked like it broke Welker in half. Welker was able to walk off the field after the hit, but didn't return to the game. Clark was hit with a 15 yard unnecessary roughness penalty, although the NFL later said that the flag was unwarranted and it was a legal hit. Going over the middle is what Wes Welker does and he's very, very good at it. After tying for the league lead in receptions last year with 112, Welker is second in the league this season with 84, ...

Tanking and Cheating: Kind of the Same Thing
SportsHubLA —
Patriots (8-5) at Raiders (3-10) — Sunday, 1:15 p.m. PST, CBS My buddy Hal would always whip me at Super Nintendo NBA Jam by cheating. During the [image]“Tonight’s Match-up” screen, he’d sweep the d-pad in circles, repeatedly tapping the “x” button to trigger the “power defense” code. Essentially, Hal could goaltend every shot, throw my poor Dell Curry or Rony Seikaly character to the ground, steal the ball, then rain threes and dunks in my face. And they say cheaters never prosper. According to an independent survey, 8.5 million out of 17 million students will cheat at some point in their college career. Eric Benet cheated on Halle Berry. ...
