Huge scoop of NFL Sunday
SmackCaster SmackBlog —
Just another predictably unpredictable week. Wondering if Wade Phillips — while he is still employed — and Tom Coughlin will be hitting the same therapists to discuss diva wide receivas. And wonder if Roy Williams brought the Curse of Motown with him to the Cowboys. At least, Dan Orlovsky knew what to do this week when he was backed up to his own end zone?
The New York Post is reporting that Coughlin and Plaxico Burress apparently got into it as the Giants left the field after their 29-17 win over the San Francisco 49ers. The trade deadline is gone so what will the Giants do with the malcontent WR? And can’t he just learn to behave given all the bucks ...
Reggie Bush Needs Knee Surgery

... a big-time playmaker. We’re going to miss him, and I hope he’s not out very long.”
Just when the Saints were starting to get healthy, they fall completely flat against division rival Carolina (a 30-7 thumping) today and lose arguably their most talented and electrifying player in the process. Now two games behind the Panthers and Tampa Bay Bucs in the NFC South, the Saints will have no choice but to win without Reggie Bush.

Saints’ Bush to Have Knee Surgery and Miss 3-4 Weeks
The NFL Minute —
Saints running back Reggie Bush is reportedly set to have knee surgery on his left knee after injuring his meniscus in Sunday’s blowout defeat at Carolina, 30-7. Bush, who has scored 6 touchdowns from scrimmage this season, is expected to miss 3-4 weeks.
Bush apparently injured his knee on a punt return late in the first half. He had been noticably affected with an injury earlier this week, but the Saints reported that it was not serious.
Bush has rushed for 294 yards this season, again struggling to run between the tackles, averaging just 3.4 yards per carry. But he has been a very effective receiving target for the Saints and has contributed with 42 ...

... the Saints game this weekend in London against the San Diego Chargers. Said coach Payton:“I think our plan is to have him evaluated in Birmingham, right from here, so he won’t make the trip.” Prior to leaving the game, Bush had racked up 55 yards on nine carries, caught one pass for 5 yards, and had a 3.5 average on three punt returns against the Panthers. Coach Payton said the team became “one-demensional” after Bush left the game, which is what led to their 30-7 loss. Due to the Saints upcoming schedule, Reggie Bush may only miss one or two games. After this Sunday’s game ...
