Jason Carlos Boozer coasts on defense. Andrei Kirilenko will shoot three-pointers but you want to let him. He also will take bad shots if contested. Mehmet Okur doesn't like to be pushed around. Gordan Giricek is a poor defender. Jarron Collins doesn't block shots and flops in the paint.
We know this because the Kings left multiple copies of their scouting report on a table in the press room after Thursday's preseason game at the University of New Mexico.
We might also know this because it's common knowledge to anyone who has watched the Jazz play recently.-
BullsBlogger I thought that too, but maybe they try and condense down the scouting for the players so they can focus on one or two important things.-
tykeenan I've only seen college scouting materials, but Matt's basically right about the printed stuff. The only parts I've ever found interesting were the descriptions of systems and plays and the video. I take it the printed player reports are really just there to reinforce the video clips.

Well, you can. Apparently some member of the Sacramento staff left multiple copies of the scouting report in the press room. And the Salt Lake Tribune's Jazz blog published the findings (which is hilarious). Not too much incendiary stuff; actually, most of it is overly positive on Utah's players. Here are some excerpts which made me laugh: ...

... Ross Siler of the Salt Lake Tribune got his hands on a Sacramento scouting report describing all the Jazz players. All kinds of interesting stuff. Carlos Boozer and Gordan Giricek, for instance, are said to be defenders worth going at. One thing that really occurs to me: guys who are deemed to not like physical contact all come with instructions like "get into him" or "go at him." As you can imagine, being seen as soft can be a real pain, because now you have every opponent instructed to be extra physical with you. But let's be honest: NOBODY likes to be elbowed in the head. Even Shaquille O'Neal can't take it sometimes. The art is in being seen as tough -- making sure no one thinks you're bothered by it. 'Cause if they see you as soft, it's going to be a long night every night, right? By the way, the ...

... Power forward: Carlos Boozer, the team’s second likely All-Star this season, may “coast on defense,” but his rebounding and skilled offensive play is invaluable next to Mehmet Okur. Paul Millsap is one of the team’s few players off the trading market, providing another tough “Bully Brother” that gives the team its hard-nosed reputation. ...

Season Preview: Utah Jazz

... guard. He’s been one of the team’s leading scorers every game, and he’s being aggressive on the offensive end. C.J. Miles will likely be traded at some point for a future draft pick or expiring contract, seeing as he’s last in the rotation and wants playing time somewhere. Gordan Giricek should have a good season for the Jazz, unspectacular but solid. Morris Almond could earn a few minutes here and there, but then again, he’s a rookie playing for Coach Sloan. Small forward: Andrei Kirilenko will never lead the team in socring, but he’s still a 5×5 player when he’s happy. Jazz owner Larry Miller has essentially promised to keep Kirilenko involved, which may send Coach Sloan into retirement after the year, but for now the Jazz should expect a better season than last. Matt Harpring , either hated or loved by Jazz fans, provides a tough player off the bench who can hit a mid-range shot. Power forward: Carlos Boozer, the team’s second likely All-Star this season, may ...
