TCY's Wish List: Jaroslav Halak
Fear The Fin —
... If I were to go through all the players in the NHL that I wanted to see in a Sharks jersey, it would be a pretty ridiculous list.
Ales Hemsky, Rick Nash, Ovie, Sidney Crosby, Sam Gagner etc.
Most, if not all of those players, would be unattainable. That's not the point of this series of posts. What I'm trying to do is to highlight a few players who could actually find their way to the beautiful city of San Jose.
If you known me at all, or you have a set of working eyes, you should know who ...

... The players were split into two groups that skated concurrently; group 1 tackled puck-handling fundamentals with Dusan Kralik, senior instructor with Endure Sports who has trained the likes of Sam Gagner and John Tavares, while the second group worked with Ryan Lounsbury, assistant coach of the men’s Brock Badgers hockey team, on skating. ...
Kadri in Practice at JLC
Pension Plan Puppets —
... Nazem Kadri which he has been kind enough to post.
I was at the Knights open practice today and lo! I snagged some Kadri shots while testing out my equipment!
More pictures after the jump.
Kadri chatting with Jason Williams (now of the Red Wings.)
More Nazem mid-move.
And a final Kadri pic.
Also a pic of Sam Gagner because, hey, he's cool too!
I thought I'd also mention ...

... the bench and in goal, with two greybeards in Pat Quinn (along with assistant coach Tom Renney) and netminder Nikolai Khabibulin joining the fold.
Quinn replaced Craig MacTavish soon after the regular season ended, and the popular former Canucks and Leafs bench boss is likely to open the team's offensive game in what could very well be his swan song as an NHL coach. Renney, meanwhile, will attempt bring a defensive mindset to the proceedings.
Expect Ales Hemsky, Sam Gagner and Andrew Cogliano to be three of the beneficiaries of ...

... is finally over, with the Islanders claiming him. Schremp was, to say the least, a lighting rod figure in the hockey-sphere. I think the diversity of opinion about him could be best summed up by slightly amending Homer Simpson's famous quote: "To Rob Schremp; the cause of, and solution to, all of life's problems."
Does that make Rob Schremp the Duff Beer of hockey players?

... the pipes. That's what I'm seeing now.
The most worrisome part of what we've seen so far from Turco is that he is quick to hit the ice. Four of his six allowed goals have come when he's hit the ice sooner than he needed to. He's started a flop and twitch along the goalline, losing sight of the puck and putting himself out of position in the process. He's also been backing himself up in the crease, leaving wide open holes for the puck to get through. Mike Comrie and Sam Gagner's goals for Edmonton are perfect examples of Turco not being ...

Thus far, the Edmonton Oilers have a Jekyll & Hyde look, depending on the personnel on the ice. The J.F. Jacques experiment has not been a success, though Ryan Stone looks like he may be a bottom four-type forward for awhile. Steve Staios has looked very unsteady and as long as Renney continues to use he and Souray as the top pairing, Khabibulin is going to see some work. Dustin Penner has been the best Oiler thus far and Sam Gagner is beginning to look like a real NHL player. Ales ...

Winging It In Motown —
... Detroit comes off a much needed win over the Canucks, scoring five times on one of the league's elite goalies Roberto Luongo. They'll need some more of that type of offensive production again tonight against the Oilers. Nikolai Khabibulin will likely start for the Oilers and Jimmy Howard will start in net for Detroit, coming off his first win of the season in relief effort of Chris Osgood. The top line of Dustin Penner, Sam Gagner, and Ales Hemsky has been good for the Oilers and could make things hard on Detroit if ...
