Making an appearance on the Savage Dog Radio Show at Sherdog today, JZ Calvancante claimed that during a knee scope he was diagnosed with a torn ACL and will have corrective surgery on it next week. The injury will require up to four months of rehab and will keep JZ out of the ring until the end of the year at the earliest and possibly into early 2009. JZ was ranked nearly across the board as the #1 lightweight in the world prior to a loss to Shinya Aoki at DREAM.2 at the end of April.
