This is just a formality, so I wouldn't get too worked up, but on Day 1 of the free-agency filing period, Brian Schneider and Carlos Delgado submitted their paperwork. I don't expect either to return in 2010. Nor do I expect J.J. Putz to be back.

Other notables to file for free agency so far are Orlando Hudson, John Lackey, Randy Wolf, Mark De Rosa, and Matt Holliday, and Jason Bay.
