Scouting Reports: The Other International Prospects
Published 6/27/2008 by kileymcd at SaberScouting
... As mentioned in the opening for the Michel Inoa report, the competition for second best July 2nd prospect is between power-hitting right fielder Rafael Rodriguez and dynamic five-tool center fielder Yorman Rodriguez, who has drawn Carlos Beltran comparisons. Most (including myself) prefer Yorman Rodriguez, and in lieu of a picture of him, we’ll run a Beltran picture. ...

Sorry Pirates fans, but the team does not have interest in bringing back Shawn Chacon.
David Lennon believes Omar Minaya's job is safe. Minaya could seek an extension after the season (he's signed through '09).
In a non-subscriber article, Baseball Prospectus' Joe Sheehan gives his take on whether certain teams should be buyers or sellers.

... has some excellent scouting information and coverage of the top prospects. They have an in depth scouting report of Michel Inoa, and they seem to think that this 6′7″ righty could be worth the massive hype, and potentially 4+ million dollar bonus. He is compared favorably to Dellin Betances when he was in high school, with similar stuff and projectability, but with more polish, better command, and a superior 3rd pitch, despite being 2 years younger than Betances when he was drafted. The Yankees are among a number of teams who are after Inoa, but reportedly, the ...

... right-handed pitching phenom Michel Inoa has agreed to a $4.25 million bonus with the Oakland A’s. The A’s have called a press conference to announce the signing of their new prize. Inoa is a 6′7, 205 lb pitcher with a low 90’s fastball that reaches 95, along with good feel for a curveball and changeup with a projectable body and feel that is beyond his years, despite lacking top-level coaching and being only 16 years old. (SaberScouting) Here is a scouting report on Michel Inoa, via SaberScouting. Inoa is still young at ...

... more interesting than they were just two days ago in the last 24 hours. According to Inoa, the Rangers offered him a $5.2 million signing bonus, and the Reds offered him $5 million and a major-league contract. (More on that below*).
You can read the ESPN article with a quote from Inoa here, and Mychael Urban has a related article on the team site as well. Here is a scouting report on Inoa from Kiley McDaniel at saberscouting.com. ...

... of $4M plus minor league expenses (which really won't kick in until he comes to America in a year or two). To me, it seems logical to shoot Inoa $4-5M while having him under your microscope and can be certain how much he throws and what type of pitches he is throwing. But why this kid? What, outside of a few scouts calling him 'once in a generation' makes him so special? How are we to know he will be the next Dwight Gooden (minus the cocaine)? Saber-Scouting (SS) has a scouting report on the kid, let's go through it: Despite being 6'7" most do not ...
Do Inoa? I’ve never even met her!
Published 7/3/2008 by Graham Goldbeck (noreply@blogger.com) at Oaktown Awesomer's: An Oakland A's Blog
... A right handed pitcher, Inoa stands in at 6’7’’, 205 pounds and likely isn’t done growing yet. A good report from Kiley McDaniel of Saber Scouting highlights Inoa’s fastball which has hit 96 mph on occasion and a “curveball that already flashes above average”, incredible for a 16 year old. The other thing that caught my eye was McDaniel’s comparisons to Rick Porcello, the Tigers 2007 1st round draft pick. ...
