Of course an injury could change everything and Eldred’s chances in Chicago are roughly the same as they would be anywhere else. After a dissapointing 2007 season he’ll have to repove himself at the Triple-A level before anyone considers the 27-year-old for a big league spot. In two seasons in the majors Eldred has played 74 games hitting .199/.251/.419 with 14 home runs driving in 30 runs.
