Fla. Coach Meyer: Fine For Criticizing Official
RightFielders Women in Sports — ... made in regard to the fine, the Florida coach said that he didn’t intend to criticize an official, and that he was sorry. Obviously his freedom of speech has been restricted, so here’s my question. Did he really mean the later statement, or did he have no options other than just graciously accepting the penalty? Sparty and Friends — ...   I firmly believe this is the situation with the SEC referees this season.  Usually, they are considered some of the best officiating crews, but the negative attention and pressure put an added weight on big calls that have greater implication than should really be there.  It seemed obvious from the replays that LSeaUx cleanly intercepted Bammer.  I have no idea why the refs couldn’t see that…but I’m gonna keep my mouth shut and my fingers still so I’m not $30k lighter in the wallet (/snickers at Herban Meyer).  ...
