Senator Obama is getting my vote Links18
Today I got a phone call from Senator Barack Obama. I was so nervous two days ago when I knew it was gonna happen and wanted to make sure he knew I had done my homework on him. I have a lot of respect for him and already had a really good feeling about him. As the time got closer, I got on his website, learned more about what he is about and brushed up on what I knew, so I got more ... [link]

You want sophisticated? He's got sophisticated

Senator Barack Obama is making an impression on America's youth. That includes the Blazers' youth. Apparently the Senator spoke on the phone with Greg Oden this morning, and made quite an impression: The conversation was quick - like two minutes but I got to talk to him like a real person. What I got from talking to him is that he is a real sports fan and he knew about the Blazers. He said that when I come back Brandon, LaMarcus and I will be a force next year. He also asked me about my knee, and he said he wasn't feeling my mohawk - lol. I laughed and explained to him that ...

Oden for Obama Sparks Superstitious Fears
Published 2/26/2008 by Tom Ziller at FanHouse

I hope): [The Blazers] won the draft lottery, took Oden with the number one pick, and Oden promptly suffered a season-ending injury. So is Obama like the much-hyped prospect who winds up letting your team down? A disturbing thought. We should note not all NBA endorsements are effective. ...

Your daily random roundup: Barack Obama’s presidential campaign recently picked up the support of Senator Chris Dodd — but even more importantly, he received the endorsement of Greg Oden. We make fun of athletes’ lack of intelligence pretty often, and have a good time doing so…but hey, there are plenty of players who are legitimately informed and have an interest in the current affairs of the country. Good for Oden, as he challenges the stereotype that professional athletes are oafish and simple-minded. I’m sure that attaining the support of LeBron James’ father will prove ...

Recently, Greg Oden, an injured member of the NBA’s Portland Trail Blazers, and a player just two years removed from graduating high school, came out in vocal support of Democratic presidential hopeful Barack Obama. This, I think, is a very dangerous thing. Knowing Oden’s influence with a certain American subculture, news that he supports Obama could influence people’s opinions about other candidates, and could even sway the results of any upcoming election.
